*This building will be tested as early in this timeframe as possible due to research schedules.
The following buildings have generators, but will not be included in this round of testing: CAPPA (Architecture), Earth & Environmental Sciences Building (Geoscience), Engineering Lab Building, Fine Arts Building, Nanofab Building, Nedderman Hall, SEIR Building, Texas Hall, and Woolf Hall.
This testing will only affect the electrical services tied to each building’s generator, not the entire building. There will be a slight “blip” lasting approximately one half of a second as the electrical service transfers to the generator and another as it is transferred back to the normal building service. The testing period will last less than 30 minutes in each building. It is recommended you keep any computer work/data in progress saved during this timeframe to prevent any possible data loss. Please share with your fellow faculty, research teams, and staff members accordingly.
With winter weather upon us, it is a good time to get our annual generator testing completed before we leave campus for the Winter Break. If you have any questions or concerns, please call either Toby Buhrkuhl at (972) 832-1490 or Jeff Johnson at (817) 798-8456.
