REVISED DATES AND TIMES: ELECTRICAL OUTAGES – SEIR BUILDING

The Office of Facilities Management (OFM) previously notified you of an electrical outage for the entire SEIR Building on December 28th and 29th.  This outage is required by Oncor to relocate the electrical feeders to support the new School of Social Work and College of Nursing and Health Innovation Building.  Oncor has requested campus to complete infrastructure modifications prior to this outage.  To complete these modifications, an additional outage will be required on Friday, December 18th, beginning at 8:00 a.m. with power being restored by 5:00 p.m.

New Power Outage Schedule

  • Friday, December 18th, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Monday, December 28th, 8:00 a.m., through Tuesday, December 29th, at 5:00 p.m.

As usual, the building’s emergency generator will be operational for fire and life safety equipment, limited building lighting, elevators, and any existing research equipment currently connected to the emergency generator.  It is recommended you keep any computer work/data in progress saved during these timeframes to prevent any possible data loss.  Also, to prevent any possible damage, we recommend you turn off all electronic equipment including computers, scanners, and copiers (these devices do not need to be unplugged from their electrical outlets) prior to these outages.
