ELECTRICAL OUTAGE – WOOLF HALL

The Office of Facilities Management has finalized the schedule for the replacement/upgrade of the main electrical switchgear and motor controls in Woolf Hall over the Winter Break.  This project will require an electrical outage for the entire building beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Monday morning, December 28th, continuing through Thursday, December 31st

The building’s emergency generator will be operational for fire and life safety equipment along with very minimal building lighting.  As part of this project we are upsizing the building’s emergency generator to support future research activities.

It is recommended you keep any computer work/data in progress saved during this timeframe to prevent any possible data loss.  Also, to prevent any possible damage, we recommend you turn off all electronic equipment including computers, scanners, and copiers (these devices do not need to be unplugged from their electrical outlets) prior to this outage.

Anyone needing emergency power to support research should contact either Toby Buhrkuhl at (972) 832-1490 or Jeff Johnson at (817) 798-8456 to arrange temporary generators.  Toby or Jeff should also be contacted with questions or concerns and by anyone who will need access to the building during this timeframe.  Please share with your fellow faculty and staff members accordingly.  Weekly reminders of this outage will be distributed.
