Former Group Members

1. Dr. Xiangquan Li, visiting scholar, Dec. 2012 – Jan. 2014.
Project title: Tectonic evolution of the East China Sea Basin and detrital zircon record of the Junggar Basin. Dr. Li is currently an associate professor in China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).

2. Jillian Rowley, MS student, August 2011 – Dec. 2013.
Thesis title: Timing, provenance, and paleoclimate implications of the Cenozoic eolian deposition in the Central Rocky Mountains. Jill is with ExxonMobil now.

3. Dr. Brain Hough, Postdoc scholar, July 2011 – Feb. 2013.
Project title: Calibration of soil carbonate clumped isotope geothermometer and evaluation of influence of climate change on river water stable isotope ratios in Wyoming and Nebraska.
Dr. Hough is currently a visiting professor in Hamilton College.

4. Daniel Kirkwood, BS student, Jan. 2013 – August 2013. Daniel made thin sections, and applied sandstone petrography to understand the provenance of sedimentary rocks.

5. Sarah Allen, BS student, May 2011 – May 2012. Sarah was Fans’s field assistant in the summer of 2012. She worked on processing volcanic ash samples to separate volcanic glass and the hydrogen isotope compositions of volcanic glass. Sarah went to TCU for graduate school.
