Oncor Electric Temporary Electrical Outage Notification

Earlier this afternoon, Oncor Electric contacted us regarding a planned outage on one of our main campus electrical feeders so they can perform preventive maintenance and replace fuses.  This outage will begin at approximately midnight on Friday night, June 18th, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, is planned to last around 10 minutes.  Available emergency back-up generators in these buildings will be maintained throughout this outage to power crucial services.  The buildings affected by this outage will be:

Arlington Hall

CAPPA (Architecture)

Chemistry & Physics

College Hall

COBA

Engineering Lab

Fine Arts

Earth & Environmental Sciences (Geoscience)

Nanofab

Nedderman Hall

SEIR

Woolf Hall

Parking Lot #49 and the north side of Parking Lot #50 will also be affected

It is recommended you keep any computer work/data in progress saved during this timeframe to prevent any possible data loss.  Also, to prevent any possible damage, we recommend you turn off all electronic equipment including computers, scanners, and copiers (these devices do not need to be unplugged from their electrical outlets) prior to this outage.  Staff from the Electric Shop, HVAC Shop, and Housing Maintenance will be on campus to insure building systems are operating correctly once power is restored.

Anyone with questions or concerns should contact either Toby Buhrkuhl at (972) 832-1490 or Jeff Johnson at (817) 798-8456.  Please share with your fellow faculty and staff members accordingly.
