Abstract

Our mission is to be able to Create an Augmented Reality platform to be able to view data of the environment where the Sensorium is placed. The Sensorium will be able to view WIFI, Bluetooth, Temperature, Light, Air quality GPS, and motion/proximity. To accomplish this, we will continue improving upon former groups development on cloud. We are using cloud in order to store, analyzing, and transmitting environmental data. Another reason we are using Cloud Services is because it allows us to seemingly send data to Microsoft HoloLensTM 2 to display information to user.

Background

Our Team had two weeklong sprints to finish all our backlog. We used a waterfall agile development method to create our software. We started off be seeing the requirements our sponsor wanted us to implement on the software, then we proceeded to do research on how we could implement these features in the current software being used. This means we needed to understand how data was flowing between the HoloLens and our sensorium to our cloud service.

Project Requirements

Connect HoloLens to our cloud service

Load database onto HoloLens

Connect Unity to Cloud service

Send information to HoloLens only from certain sensors

System Overview

Our program is functioning but does have some limited use. As of right now all sensors are sending data to our HoloLens at the same time every four seconds.

Results

In conclusion while we were able to implement the buttons for the graphical user interface our team has had problems with the buttons sending signals to our cloud service to know when it should send data of individual sensors. With that being said the sensors are receiving data every 4 seconds from our cloud service and projecting it onto the Microsoft HoloLens. It has honestly been a pleasure working on a sponsored project for our senior design 2 it has given our team great insight and hands-on experience on software currently being used in industry, allowing us to get ahead before completion of our bachelors.

Future Work

Future work available on this project would be the use of machine learning to make predictions on environment it is located in as data input changes.
