This project aims to investigate the needs of an urban community in transportation. The teachers will investigate how emerging technologies such as connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV) serve the mobility needs and enhance access for particularly vulnerable urban communities such as the senior populations, low-income households, and people with disabilities. A mixed-methods of quantitative impact analysis coupled with qualitative scenario assessments will enhance teachers’ understanding of the social factors influencing mobility and the knowledge of variable-related uncertainties associated with each scenario for urban communities.
