ENVISION, available free from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, is a rating system to facilitate the planning and design of sustainable and resilient infrastructure. ENVISION is a comprehensive framework of 64 sustainability indicators, divided into five categories which are Quality of Life, Leadership, Resource Allocation, Natural World, Climate and Resilience, that address the full range of environmental, societal, and economic impacts of projects. Designed to be flexible, the ENVISION framework can be used to evaluate various infrastructure types. RET teachers will evaluate traditional and innovative school infrastructure alternatives for sustainability based on the ENVISION rating system.
