Maria J. Islas Terrazas

Maria Islas, undergraduate civil engineering student at UTA graduating in Spring 2025. Enrolled in fast-track program for a masters in structural engineering at UTA. I am currently working on Fire design, protection and evaluation of bridges along with Dr. Eyosias. Started doing research with Dr. Yazdani Fall 2024 after taking his reinforced concrete course. Internship with TRC during summer 23′ and 24′ as a power delivery intern where I helped structural engineers design/analyze substation structures. 

Student organizations: 

President of Chi Epsilon at UTA, Civil Engineering Honor Society. 

President of EWB-UTA, traveled to Bolivia in summer 2023 to start international project. Helping community with expansion of water system.
