Dr. Nur Yazdani is a distinguished Professor and former Chairperson of the Civil Engineering Department at UT Arlington. As a revered Fellow of ASCE, ACI, and SEI, he has authored over 180 articles in esteemed journals and proceedings. Renowned as an invited speaker, Dr. Yazdani’s pioneering research spans from Concrete Structures Design to Sustainable Technologies and beyond, marking a significant footprint in the realm of Civil Engineering.
Dr. Nur Yazdani: A renowned academician, researcher, scholar and professional, he has been honored with many awards for his teaching and research excellence. His remarkable endeavors have led to the securement of over $18.5 million in external research funding, showcasing his profound impact in the structural engineering domain.

Dr. Nur Yazdani has played an active role in prestigious national societies, including ASCE, ACI, and TRB. He has held leadership positions in these organizations, such as the past president of the ASCE Tallahassee Branch and the SEI Fort Worth Branch, past Chairman of the ACI-SEI Joint Committee 343 on Concrete Bridge Design, and current Chairman of the SEI Committee on Retrofit of Structures under Dynamic Loads. Dr. Yazdani has spearheaded many technical sessions at renowned national/international conferences and is recognized as an ASCE certified ABET program evaluator and team chair. Dr. Yazdani holds the position of senior ASCE certified ABET civil engineering program evaluator and team chair. He spearheaded the Disaster Mitigation Group and the NDE Laboratory at UT Arlington.
