Tasfinul Haque

I am Tasfinul Haque, currently residing in Arlington, TX. My academic and professional journey has been dedicated to the field of civil engineering, where I have consistently strived for excellence and innovation.

Education

  • I am pursuing my Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington and My educational journey started from January.

Experience

  • As a Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Arlington since March 2023, I have been actively engaged in cutting-edge research related to bridge maintenance. I was involved in the UTA-NCTCOG university partnership program for 7 months. I have been part of a team developing user-friendly software for intervention recommendations to enhance bridge asset condition maintenance and improvement. This project involves complex tasks, such as creating Excel-based software for inputting bridge data and outputting intervention recommendations and cost-benefit analyses. Additionally, I have hands-on experience conducting non-destructive evaluations using Ground Penetrating Radar on the Northaven Trail bridge deck in Dallas. My involvement also extends to the installation of tilt meters and strain gauges for load testing on the WB US 175 bridge.

Certifications

  • I have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.

Awards and Affiliations

  • I received the Transfer Scholarship in 2020 and 2021. In Spring 2021, I earned a place on the Dean’s List. My commitment to scholastic achievement extends to my membership in PHI KAPPA PHI @ UT Arlington and the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Skills

  • I have learned various software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Risa 3D, ArcGIS, MATLAB, Microsoft Office, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS.

In summary, I am a motivated learner and eager to pursue my research in bridge maintenance. My goal is to contribute to the advancement of civil engineering, particularly in the realm of infrastructure maintenance and improvement. I look forward to opportunities that allow me to apply my knowledge and expertise for the betterment of our infrastructure and society.
