MD Farhan Abir
MD Farhan Abir is an MSc student in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. His area of concentration is Structures and Applied Mechanics. He completed his bachelor studies in July 2014 at the Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology (AUST), Dhaka, Bangladesh. His undergraduate thesis was on static analysis of tall buildings under later loading. After graduation, he joined a leading consultancy firm in Bangladesh and had six years of professional experience in several structural engineering projects. Among those projects, the most remarkable was the first metro rail project of Bangladesh. Currently, he is doing his master’s thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nur Yazdani on developing a decision tree: whether to retrofit or replace an impact-damaged old bridge structure.
