Ahmed Alateeq

Ahmed Alateeq worked in both academia and industry. He worked as a teaching assistant at Qassim University in Saudi Arabia for 13 months. There, he had the opportunity to participate in a training program with Saudi Aramco Company for 7 months. In this position, Ahmed worked as supervisor in an employment residential building, as well as other buildings which were built in Shaybah, an empty quarter desert. His MSc. degree’s creative component was related to energy efficient structures, in which he investigated the feasibility of attaching silicon solar cells directly to the supporting system while studying the buckling effect on the silicon solar cells and their corresponding efficiency. Nowadays, Ahmed Alateeq is a PhD student in Structural Engineering and Applied Mechanics, working under the supervision of Dr. Nur Yazdani at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is currently working on evaluating Las Lomas Bridge, a concrete bridge whose precast concrete deck panels failed.
