Avijit Pal

Avijit Pal is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he is a member of Dr. Nur Yazdani’s research group. Prior to this, he obtained his undergraduate degree from the Military Institute of Science and Technology in Bangladesh. His undergraduate thesis focused on the “Numerical modeling of concrete-filled steel tubes under concentric and eccentric loading.”

Following his undergraduate studies, Avijit dedicated six months to serving as a Lecturer at a private university in Bangladesh. Subsequently, he transitioned into the role of a Junior Structural Engineer at the Civil Engineering consulting firm CSC-PBRLP, where he contributed for 2.5 years. His responsibilities at the firm encompassed various aspects of structural engineering, including residential building design, the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), site supervision, and quality control.

In addition to his work on structural projects, Avijit actively participated in research initiatives, particularly those related to sustainable concrete and large-scale experimental work. His time at CSC-PBRLP enabled him to gain proficiency in finite element analysis and machine learning, further enriching his skill set.
