Khadiza Binte Jalal

Khadiza Binte Jalal is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2016. Later in 2016, Mrs. Jalal joined the Department of Civil Engineering at MIST as a Lecturer and served as a faculty member from January 2016 to July 2018.

During her tenure at MIST, Ms. Jalal has been involved in multiple research projects focusing on the field of structural engineering. One of her projects investigated the probabilistic seismic performance of retrofitted garment manufacturing factory buildings subjected to near-field and far-field earthquake ground motion. As an undergraduate student, Mrs. Jalal completed two major projects named Prototype bridge construction (Girder Bridge) and conducted extensive research on seismic performance evaluation of residential buildings in Bangladesh. Currently, she is working under the supervision of Dr. Nur Yazdani. She is working with Quantitative Non-Destructive Evaluation of rebar in Concrete.
