Amy Florius

Nyoka Amy Florius is currently a PhD student at the University of Texas at Arlington and her area of concentration is Structures. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in December 2017 where she received her Honors Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Summa Cum Laude. While completing her undergraduate degree, she also interned with WSP, a prestigious engineering firm ranking #1 among Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) 2018 “Top 100 Pure Designers” list. She was then offered a full-time position after graduation where she earned one year of experience. While there she got experience in some of the largest roadway design projects. Working in the industry definitely gave her insight on real-world applications of engineering and some of the issues encountered in design.
