Rishabh Kumar

Mr. Kumar completed his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) Degree in Civil Engineering from R.N.S Institute of Technology, India in July 2019. During his B.E, he has been a part of several projects, one of his projects titled, “Extensive Survey Project” provided him an experience of carrying out Survey for real life projects such as Construction of a Reservoir, Highway Planning, Water Supply and Sanitation plans for Kaiwara, a small town in Karnataka, India. Where he executed the survey, planned and developed necessary engineering designs for the same.

His research experience involves his under graduate project titled, “Analysis of Building Foundations for Surface Blast Loads” aimed at studying the behavior of building foundation due to sudden surface blast impact/ loading. Here, calculations for blast loads were done using MATLAB to convert the same into real-time data, and applying these loads on a building plan developed using ETABS. Further, Analyzing the same building plan and its foundation under the impact of calculated blast loads and studying its effects on the structure.

He has also interned with, E-Construct Design & Build Pvt. Ltd. a private construction firm based in Bangalore, India. Where he was involved in 4 live projects located in different parts of India and worked on structural plans of these structures & analyzed them under different loading conditions and executed their structural designs.

He is now a Graduate student, currently pursuing his Master of Science(M.Sc.) in Structural Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is conducting his Thesis research under Prof. Nur Yazdani, titled “Effect of Fire and Elevated Temperature on Precast, Pre-stressed Concrete Panels with Fiber Reinforcement and FRP Composites”.
