Nohely Vargas Quiroz

Nohely Vargas Quiroz graduated from the University of Houston in 2022, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and minored in Education through the teachHouston program. As an undergraduate student, Nohely completed multiple projects centered around climate and sustainability. Since 2022, Nohely has taught in Arlington ISD at the James Bowie Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) in Arlington, TX. In May 2024, Nohely completed two successful years as an Advanced Biology educator for Bowie P-TECH. During her first two years, Nohely maintained the highest departmental STAAR passing rate of 97%. Along with nourishing her students academically, Nohely is a major proponent of social emotional learning and mental health advocacy. As a first generation college graduate and educator, she has mentored a growing list of past and former students. Outside of her work in education, Nohely has interests in environmental work and sustainable development. Some of Nohely’s personal hobbies include dancing ballet folklórico, film photography, and hiking.
