Gregory “Stan” Conely, Jr.
As a passionate advocate for meaningful and relevant teaching throughout his entire career, Stan’s professional journey began with an education degree from Ball State University in 1999. After an enlistment and initial training for several years as a military service member, he worked in Indiana and eventually Texas as a certified STEM instructor facilitating practical and interdisciplinary problem-based learning for elementary, middle school, and high school students. With over two decades of experience in urban, rural, and suburban settings, his current position as an Instructional Designer at Mansfield ISD’s Jerry Knight STEM Academy allows him to develop courses in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, STEM Careers, and Film. Combining his experiences as both an educator and army sergeant overseas has greatly assisted him with incredible science and engineering professional development opportunities, including an Interdisciplinary Studies graduate degree from the University of North Texas in 2021. More recently, he participated in Texas A&M University’s Nuclear Power, Process, and Manufacturing Technology Grant for STEM Educators; contributed to the Chick-Fil-A National College Football Hall of Fame’s technology curriculum; and is currently studying curriculum and instruction as a doctoral student at Liberty University. Along with a passion for his academic and professional pursuits, Stan’s faith, beautiful wife of 22 years, four amazing children, and two very energetic dogs, helps to keep him centered.
