Kenya Wilson-Brown, M.Ed.

Kenya Wilson-Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Missouri Southern State University in 2016. She began her teaching career in 2016 at DeSoto High School where she taught for three years. During that time, she wrote science curriculum for the district and served as the Biology team lead and PLC facilitator. She left education for one year to pursue a national certification as an EMT and graduated as valedictorian of her class. Her passion for teaching and the profound impact she witnessed on her fellow educators during the pandemic compelled her to return to the profession in the fall of 2020 as the Biology team lead and content expert. After two more years, her accomplishments included winning the Campus Teacher of the Year in 2021-22 and earning a Master of Education in Educational Leadership in the Fall of 2022. She also served as a mentor and facilitator during a Jumperstart to Leadership summer course for rising freshmen during the summer of 2022. After five amazing years with DeSoto ISD, she sought a position as a Science Instructional Lead Teacher with Dallas ISD at Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy for the 2022-23 school year. She will continue to teach Biology and serve as the Science Department Instructional Lead Teacher at BA this upcoming year.
