Jocelyn Sigler

Jocelyn is a Biology and Scientific Research and Design teacher at Lamar High School. A native of Sacramento, California, she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus on Cellular and Molecular Biology from Benedict College in Columbia, Carolina. She has since completed course work at Texas Christian University and is completing her M.Ed. in Educational Administration at Concordia University Texas in Austin, Texas. Prior to entering formal education, Jocelyn worked in outdoor education at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas. She served as the Educational Program Coordinator and Field School Coordinator. The BRIT Field School served student populations from the Morningside Community in Fort Worth ISD and was funded by a grant from the Rainwater Foundation. After leaving BRIT, Jocelyn taught in Keene ISD, Crowley ISD, and now Arlington ISD. She has taught a number of life and physical sciences including biology, anatomy & physiology, aquatic science, environmental science, chemistry, and IPC. She also coached women’s volleyball and basketball. In addition to her time serving in education, Jocelyn also spent time as the lead andrologist/Jr. embryologist at a local infertility clinic. Jocelyn is married to her husband Xavier, and they share two children, Harrison, 3, and Kensington, 2.
