Monica Ramirez
Monica Marie Ramirez went to the University of Texas at Arlington. She got degrees in Music Education and Math. Most of her employment history consisted of teaching and tutoring. She was a tutor for WyzAnt, UTSI, Librarian, UTA Math Clinic, and Mathnasium. Before coming to Bowie High School, She was a substitute for Arlington ISD, experiencing a multitude of schools in the process. She currently teach algebra 1, algebra 2, and OnRamps College Algebra (ORCA). She will also be working with the P–Tech students this year. She plays clarinet (and sometimes alto sax) in the Arlington Community Band. She also have been a volunteer for ICT (now called Mainstage Irving at Las Colinas) for 16 years. Her interests consist of making most anything. Some things she like to create include: plushies, drawing, online games (on sites such as Scratch, Quizizz, and Blooket), Mario Maker stages, Animal Crossing designs, painting, card games, board games, pop–up cards, animations, songs, Canvas formula questions, and webpages. She have always been interested in technology. When She was younger, she thought that everyone who used a computer knew “basic” things like binary, html, shortcuts, and maintenance. She discovered later that this was simply not the case. She went to Microsoft’s DigiGirlz camp each summer throughout middle and high school. In 10th grade, She took CMAT (computer multimedia animation technology) class. She is currently a part of CTAC (campus technology advisory committee) at her school. She has always wanted to find new ways to incorporate technology, health, engineering, and other cross–curricular subjects into her math courses.
