The Enemy of Good Enough.

I’ve been promising this blog since the start of the pandemic, which, if you check your apocalypse calendar, was a very long time ago. When I thought about working on it, I ran into familiar obstacles of any new project. How will I lay it out? What material do I want in it? How should I organize content?

These are the types of decisions that a real web developer would tackle by forming a brand/identity guide, interviewing the potential audience, carefully constructing a design plan and a roll-out timeline, and more. In the end, that would create a very good website or blog. Maybe not perfect, but close enough for government work.

I don’t want or need perfect, however. In fact, that’s the opposite of what I want. Perfect is the enemy of good enough.

I just need to get to work and let this thing grow organically to meet the goals I hope this blog achieves. In no particular order, I want,

  • A place to share and explain my various coding examples and tutorials,
  • A place to discuss Spacepy developments and examples,
  • A place where every once in a while, I can dump my lousy opinions for the sole purpose of making me feel a bit better.

So, here it is. There are no pictures or organization, but there’s a website that does stuff, and lots of room to grow.

My next post should be a Spacepy post, and that is actually important. So I’m looking forward to that. It won’t be perfect, but at least it will be.

Until then, enjoy this very broken website. I don’t know jack about WordPress and that will become painfully obvious in short order.
