What is Historical Preservation?

Historical Preservation is the process that historians use to conserve and protect historic sites, documents, and other physical artifacts, in an effort to help current and future generations to experience and understand the historical significance of these artifacts. Preservation is central to communities like Arlington, which has a long, storied history, predating its founding in April 1884. Protecting historic sites like Top O’ Hill Terrace allows for modern day Arlingtonians to connect with the unique history of the city, and the people that called Arlington home throughout the last 150 years.
