Author: Ana Mariscal

Ana is a full-time graduate student of Sociology at UT Arlington and works as a graduate assistant for the Parent and Family Center. She graduated from UTA with a B.A. in Anthropology, summa cum laude, in 2014, and worked as a high school teacher for 5 years in the Arlington/Mansfield area prior to returning to grad school. Ana is passionate about education and believes that family and parent support are essential in student success. Her current research interests include Mexican American studies, social inequality, immigration, education, and quantitative studies. During her free time, Ana loves to play video games, weightlift/powerlift, play tennis, cook, draw, play music, and spend time with loved ones.
