Congratulations to the graduate class of 2020!

We are so grateful to have been a small part of your celebration and we would like to thank all the students, parents, and families that participated in our first-ever virtual Post Toast Celebration this past month! We had a blast playing trivia with you, creating yummy Mocktails, and toasting to all of your graduating Mavericks. You made our event a success, and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Here are some highlights from the event:

• Brandon Berens (aka CelloFellow) won our Kahoot trivia game! He will be receiving a $25 gift card to the UTA Bookstore. Congrats Brandon!
• Jennifer Bradford was the lucky winner of our Post Toast Celebration Drawing! She will be receiving a UTA Diploma Frame from the UTA Bookstore. Congrats Jennifer!
• Chef David shared two tasty Mocktail recipes! Please look below to learn how to make the Maverick Blue Skies & the Mavs Crushin’ It Mocktails. These recipes are a wonderful way for the whole family to stay cool all summer long!
• Our students and their families got a chance to countdown and throw their caps in the air to show their excitement! Check out our small gallery below for some pictures of the event.

Although the circumstances prevented us from celebrating your success in a traditional manner, we hope that you and your Maverick felt the pride and celebratory spirit we tried to convey. It is our goal to provide meaningful engagement for you and your families and will continue to do so in the coming months. Also, remember that graduation had only been postponed. Don’t forget to check the UTA Commencement site regularly for updates on official graduation celebrations!

New Maverick Orientation & Callout for Volunteers!

We also look forward to being a part of the New Maverick Orientations for incoming students this summer. All orientations will be held virtually, but the Parent and Family Center will be there to welcome not only our new students but their parents and families as well. Every Friday we will be hosting a Live Mav Family Coffee Hour! Want to help out? We’d love to have interested families help us co-host these events. If you’d like to volunteer, please reach out to us. Training will be provided! 

It’s time to renew your Membership!

If you are a returning student/parent, please remember to renew Maverick Parent and Family Association Memberships before September 1, 2020. We encourage ALL MPFA Members to Maximize your membership. Your MPFA membership provides you and your students with amazing benefits and simultaneously helps maintain and promote the values of the Parent and Family Center. Congratulations, Tasha Talton!

Last but not least, our very own Assistant Director, Tasha Talton has been named Interim Director of the Parent and Family Center. Please help us in congratulating Tasha! She is not only a most capable leader but a talented and kind-hearted individual as well. We are so excited for her and we are fully confident that the Parent and Family Center has been left in the best hands possible.
