Faculty contributor for the College of Engineering session of the “Applied Learning Connections for the Aerospace Manufacturing Industry” workshop for Math, Science, Technology and Pre- Engineering High School teachers in conjunction with the Fort Worth Chamber, Vought Aircraft, Lockheed Martin and Bell Helicopter.
Advisor for the CanSat design competition, 2005-2006, 2006-2007 (Satellite in a soda-can Team won First Place in 2007, $2500)
Advisor for AIAA Design-Build-Fly (2004, 2005), Texas Space Grants Consortium Design Challenge Teams (since 2003),
Co-advisor for the AE senior design project (NASA Mars Flyer – Won 1st Tier Award for $5000 from NASA, 2005)
Co-advisor for the student teams participating in the AUVSI Student UAV competitions (1st place in 2005, 3rd place in 2006).
Participated in the Brewer high school (White Settlement School District) career fairs by showcasing Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering to the junior and senior high school students.
The MAE department showcased the department’s activities as well as AVL activities at Brewer High School (WSISD).
