The purpose of the two visits was for students to see the hardware (post-tensioning devices, tendons, anchorages, etc. at VSL plant in Fort Worth, Texas) and actual post-tensioned bridge construction (Dallas, Texas) that was taught in the class. The post-tensioned prestressed girders have mixed pre-tensioning strands and post-tensioning tendons. We would like to thank Dr. Zuming Xia at STRUCTURAL/VSL for his great help with the arrangement and planning to make this educational visits possible.
