For the third year in a row, the students at UT Arlington school of Architecture were assigned a design build project. As the class began their school year, they were asked to work together to design a house, then proceed to build it. For the 2017-2018 project, a 1,560 square foot single-family home was designed. It was a modern take on the traditional Gable style home with white fiber cement siding, large Milgard® Thermally Improved Aluminum windows and a sliding patio door. Large windows were key to maintaining an airy feeling and flooded the home with natural light. Milgard Thermally Improved Aluminum Series offered good energy efficiency as well as great quality, and the narrow sight lines and clean look really suited the modern style.
