Microsoft Word: Researcher feature will retire starting late December 2024
Starting January 2025, Microsoft will retire the Researcher feature in Microsoft Word.
After this date, Researcher will no longer be available on the ribbon in Word and will not receive support. This change affects both Word for Windows and Word for Mac desktops.
Microsoft is dedicated to enhancing your Microsoft 365 experience. Occasionally, features that duplicate existing offerings are removed to streamline and improve the service. Microsoft Copilot is a great alternative to Researcher.
