Outlook: New location for the Mail, Calendar, People, and other modules

Microsoft will soon move the Outlook navigation modules from the bottom to the top left of the folder pane.

Outlook users on Current Channel have been able to test the new experience since March 2022. Soon, the new location will be universal for all users navigating Mail, Calendar, People, and other apps. The new location adds new functionality, so it is important to note that there is no option to return to the old navigation experience.

The update will provide a consistent experience across Outlook, Teams, and Office.com for switching apps and is essential in creating room for more apps to integrate with Outlook. Users will benefit from the move by having more space to customize and pin preferred apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – making the apps easily accessible without having to leave Outlook.
