Teams users will now be able to use buttons on Bluetooth headsets, speakerphones and certified devices to answer, end and even mute calls. This feature uses industry standard communication protocol called Hands Free Protocol (HFP), and will work with most headsets that have an answer/end call button. This feature will not work with devices that require a USB dongle.

If you can use your headset to answer cellular calls with your cell phone, then your headset supports HFP. With the new feature, you will have the ability to use your headset to answer and mute calls with Teams. The Teams button support, which can be used for actions like joining a meeting or raising/lowering hands during a meeting, will only be available on certified models.

At this time, answering a call using the device button is not supported if you have two or more audio devices connected to your PC. This feature supports both Windows 10 and Windows 11.
