What is Happening? Senate Bill 475 required the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) to create a certification process for cloud applications and services that create, store, process or transmit state agency data. The TX-RAMP certification process with DIR for new contracts or renewals starts on January 1st 2022. For more information, please review the TX-RAMP website.
When Will This Happen? Starting January 1, 2022
What Do I Need to Do? If you use a cloud application or service that requires a new contract or renewal, submit your paperwork early. Due to state certification requirements, delays in processing are anticipated. Existing contracts for cloud services do not need to be certified until renewed or a new contract is executed.
