In response to the changing needs of our campus community, the University of Texas at Arlington is opting out of the Microsoft Technology Adoption Program (TAP). TAP allowed users to experience new features before they were widely released.

Teams users at UTA will now receive new features as they are deployed to general release. This change will take place on Friday, February 5th to allow the University to effectively plan for updates moving forward.

UTA and Microsoft will continue our partnership to bring cutting edge tools to the University.

Teams users can enjoy all of the following features:

  • Chat with other users
  • Schedule meetings
  • Make and receive calls
  • Collaborate, screenshare, share and edit files in real time
  • Use video conferencing
  • Use custom backgrounds, gallery mode and together mode
  • Use apps and workflows
  • Split groups into breakout rooms
  • Simplify and customize notification settings
  • Pin important posts to the top of channels
  • View live captions with speaker attribution
  • Enjoy additional features in Whiteboard
  • Spotlight an individual video participant during a meeting
  • Manage meeting options before and during meetings
