To help users organize information and communicate more efficiently, Microsoft is introducing the new chat and channels experience. Coming soon, the new feature integrates both chat and channels into user-friendly workflows, making it easier to access, triage, and organize conversations.

The Get started button will offer a self-service, guided onboarding to help users discover the new experience and configure it to their preferences. Individuals who prefer to keep chat and channels separate can easily switch back to this mode.

Mentions
The new @mentions view consolidates messages directed at you by gathering all personal mentions into one interactive list. New filters can help you focus on what’s important now, like unread messages in chats or channels, without muted conversations or meeting chats getting in the way.

Custom Sections
The new chat and channels experience in Teams empowers you to organize your work environment to fit your needs. Users can create custom sections to organize projects and topics that include channels or individual, group, and meeting chats.

New Controls
Each user has a unique way of working. Now, you can customize Teams chat and channels to align with your personal workflow and preferred information consumption style. With new controls, users can choose to view chat and channels separately, see message previews, or display all channels in a single list.screenshot of chat and channels settings

The integrated chat, team and channel feature is available for desktop, mobile, iOS, and Android. To learn more about the feature, visit the Microsoft website.
