The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has created the Technology Acquisition Helper – a tool to guide users when requesting technological resources such as software, applications, tools, or services. The Technology Acquisition Helper streamlines the process of identifying resources that require a Technology Approval Process Request (TAPREQ).
OIT manages a pre-approved software list that includes applications already reviewed and approved to meet OIT’s usability and security requirements. When a new technological resource is requested that is not on the pre-approved list, a TAPREQ is required. Once a TAPREQ is submitted, OIT will review the request for approval.
How to use the Technology Acquisition Helper
When searching for a product, icons will notate if a TAPREQ is required, not required, or if more information is needed for a decision.
A search bar is available to locate products by utilizing a vendor name or an individual product name.
When the helper has located the product, you will see the current approval status and a notation of what is required for product review, if applicable.
Please contact the Help Desk if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
