Windows 11 is now available to all faculty and staff as an upgrade to eligible devices and on new Dell devices. If you would like to upgrade your existing device(s), please submit a self-service ticket to the IT Help Desk to determine device eligibility. New Dell devices will arrive with Windows 11 installed.
Windows 11 is Microsoft’s latest operating system and is designed to offer an enhanced user experience with the following:
Powerful new features. Many new features have been introduced in Windows 11 to positively influence productivity. Multitasking is easier with features such as Snap Layouts, Snap Groups, Virtual Desktops, and better support for multiple monitors to manage tasks simultaneously. The new Start menu and Taskbar are customizable and intuitive to user preferences.
Improved performance and security. Windows 11 has been developed to be fast, efficient, and smooth, with quick load times and improved overall stability. The Windows Defender suite has seen multiple security upgrades to protect user data from various threats.
Fresh and modern design. Windows 11 has a new user interface that focuses on simplicity and usability. The new design is visually appealing and easy to navigate.
