User’s Content in One Place, Improved Filters, and Easier Access

Microsoft is updating the Office.com and Office app for Windows experiences, making it even easier for users to find their content, access apps and templates, take action quickly, and understand what work needs attention.

Homepage updates include:

  • Recommended actions: Jump into your upcoming meeting, add a to-do task, or reply to recent comments in documents. Easily collaborate on content by Sharing via Teams or booking time to review content with coworkers.
  • Quick access: view your content as a list or cards for a more visual layout. Easily filter by recently opened, recently shared, favorites, or custom filters.

My Content updates include:

  • Even more specific filters: by type of document, activity and time. The activity filter can show content like documents users are tagged in.
  • Ability to browse by People and Meetings: “People” shows a card view of people and documents they have shared. “Meetings” shows all meeting content like recordings, meeting notes, and attached documents from previous meetings.
  • Ability to view content based on where it lives, like OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • In addition to the Recommended Actions on the home page, users can find content actions in line on any of the content lists within Office.com by clicking the triple dot menu. This new release adds new actions including Convert to PDF, Share to Teams, Add to Calendar, and Add to To-Do.

Create updates include:

  • Create new content using dozens of tools across Microsoft 365, from surveys and brainstorming sessions to reporting dashboards, project plans and more.
  • Access to user’s templates in one place, for an easier start to creating branded content.
  • Recommended templates across Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
