You know how on Teams when you look at yourself, it’s a mirror image? Maybe you’re wearing a shirt with text on it or you have a poster in the background that’s flipped, even though everyone else looks correct. Then you’re probably familiar with the problems this can cause while presenting. Imagine a professor in an online class trying to write something on a whiteboard while referring to the camera. Even pointing becomes a challenge because your hand naturally goes the “wrong” way. The option to un-mirror will let users see themselves correctly the way the other viewers do.
The default will still be mirrored video, like present, but users can turn of the “mirror my video” toggle to utilize the un-mirrored view. This will roll out for Windows and MAC desktop client in the coming months, and will be helpful at the following locations: Gallery, Large gallery, Preview videos, PowerPoint sharing (content only), and PowerPoint Live.
