Teams meeting organizers and presenters will soon have greater flexibility to control when participants can use their microphones.
Meeting organizers may opt to prevent participants from unmuting after scheduling the meeting or during the meeting by selecting “don’t allow to unmute.” Participants must use the Raise Hand feature to speak or ask questions. The meeting organizer can then allow them to unmute by selecting “allow to unmute.”
Meeting organizers may also unmute participants’ microphones on their behalf.
This feature does not apply to participants who dial into meetings using the phone number provided in the meeting details. This functionality is also not yet available for Teams meeting room devices.
