Microsoft is now introducing the Briefing email from Cortana.

A few hours into your workday, you will receive an email about any relevant information to help you plan for your day.  This email will help you stay in control of your calendar and allow you to organize your day better.

The Briefing email includes information like:

    • Commitments, requests, and follow-ups with colleagues and collaborators that might have been forgotten
    • Documents associated with your meetings that you might want to review beforehand
    • Suggested focus time you can schedule to help get independent work done

Depending on which version of Outlook you’re using, you’ll get one of two different versions—adaptive or HTML.

    • Adaptive version: If you open the Briefing email through Outlook, you’ll see links to open tasks, upcoming meetings, related documents, in-line actions to triage tasks and suggested focus time.
    • HTML version: If you open Briefing in an email app other than Outlook, you’ll see the HTML version that links to open tasks, upcoming meetings, and related documents. This version does not include in-line actions or suggested focus time.

Cortana will also offer to schedule emails in advance and send them out when more recipients are in their working hours.
