Updates to Channels in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams will soon gain two new features for channels:  Information Pane and Pin Posts.

Information Pane

The Information Pane is marked by the “I” icon in the top right corner of the Teams channel next to the “Meet” button.

The Information Pane provides a list of channel members who have recently contributed to the channel, a full list of all channel members, and updates made to the channel itself. It also allows users to quickly add additional members to the channel.

This feature is already available to users at UTA.

Pin Posts

With the pin post feature, channel owners can pin important information to the Information Pane. This function will allow team members to easily access key messages.

Only the channel owners will be able to pin content to the Information Pane.

This function will be available starting late October/November.
