Meet The Staff: Dr. Timothy Henry

Procrastinate tomorrow. That’s what Dr. Timothy Henry has to say when it comes to succeeding in academia.

As Assistant Dean for the Honors College, he juggles a variety of tasks. On top of being a human anatomy and physiology professor, Dr. Henry promotes internships and fellowships; surveys science-based senior projects; and advises pre-healthcare undergraduates.

Recently, he was awarded the MAVS 1000 instructor of the year for his outstanding work teaching the freshman seminar. While he’s modest about his accomplishments, it shows his strong commitment to education and deservedly so. Continue reading

Honors Scholars Gain Useful Knowledge Across The Globe

Honors Students have plenty of opportunities to fulfill their dreams and get ahead in their academic and professional endeavors. A study abroad scholarship is just one of the ways that students can achieve their goals.

With financial help from the Honors College, students have traveled the world — from the lush green rural scenery of Bangladesh to tropical, sunny Belize and the culture-rich business hub of Taiwan. This past summer, a few students took advantage of the Honors scholarship opportunities and accomplished truly impressive feats.

Pre-Law Students Aim For International Tournament

A team of pre-law students, including Honors political science junior Bethany Clinton (second from the right), will attend the International Intercollegiate Mediation Tournament at Brenau University in Gainesville, GA this November following their high achievements at a local tournament.

Recently, the team received six awards for their outstanding performance at the fourth annual Texas Peacemaker Invitational Mediation Tournament at Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth, Sept. 29-30. Continue reading
