New Scholarship For Honors Liberal Arts Students

The Honors College is offering a new scholarship this semester named after former Dean Dr. Karl Petruso.

The Karl M. Petruso Scholarship for Fieldwork in the Liberal Arts was created in an effort to attract more liberal arts students to the Honors College. All liberal arts students enrolled in the Honors College are eligible to apply.

“I thought this might be an opportunity to raise the visibility of the honors college among liberal arts students in all disciplines,” said Dr. Petruso. “The more we talked about it, the more we decided that it might be appropriate to target it to students who wanted to do field research toward their Honors Senior project.” Continue reading

Meet The Staff: Dr. Timothy Henry

Procrastinate tomorrow. That’s what Dr. Timothy Henry has to say when it comes to succeeding in academia.

As Assistant Dean for the Honors College, he juggles a variety of tasks. On top of being a human anatomy and physiology professor, Dr. Henry promotes internships and fellowships; surveys science-based senior projects; and advises pre-healthcare undergraduates.

Recently, he was awarded the MAVS 1000 instructor of the year for his outstanding work teaching the freshman seminar. While he’s modest about his accomplishments, it shows his strong commitment to education and deservedly so. Continue reading
