Honors College Events For Spring 2017

Welcome back Honors students! It’s a fresh start to a new year with new opportunities to be a part of the Honors community here at UTA. We’ve got big plans for the semester and hope to bring new students, faculty, staff and alumni together with the following events:

First HC General Body Meeting – Feb. 2
Meet the student officers who plan events for the HC as well as the Honors College staff who work hard to fulfill your UTA experience. The first HCC meeting will cover events scheduled for the semester.  Come for the pizza and sundaes, stay for the community.

Game Night at the CAB – Feb. 7
Make friends at this semester’s game night with snacks and healthy competition!

Second HC General Body Meeting – Feb. 15
Dr. Julienne Greer will return for another presentation on theater and social robotics. You can read more about her presentation at last semester’s colloquium here.

Honors College Colloquium – Feb. 17
Dr. Mark Tremayne will discuss the prevailing issue of fake news in the media. Tremayne teaches at the school of communications and specializes in digital media and blogging.

Road Trip 2017 – Feb. 25-26
The Honors College and Friends of the Library will be taking students on a trip to the historic Louisiana town of Natchitoces, Louisiana — where students will have a chance to celebrate Mardi Gras — a little differently. The town, founded in 1714, is known for its beauty and distinctive French heritage. More to be announced.
