Honors College 2017 Study Abroad: Scotland

1024px-edinburgh_castle_rockScotland is the destination for the Honors College 2017 Study Abroad Program, May 31 to June 18. Students can experience the contemporary fringe culture of vibrant cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow while studying the country’s ancient history. Interim Dean Dr. Kevin Gustafson and Former Dean Dr. Karl Petruso will lead a tour of the country.

Dr. Petruso will teach an introduction to the archaeology of Scotland from the stone age to the Viking era. Dr. Gustafson will offer a survey of Scottish literature. The program begins in Edinburgh and will make stops at various historical and archaeological sites including Glasgow, Melrose Abbey, Dumferline, the Roman Antonine Wall, Adberdeen, Sterling, Skara Brae and St. Andrews.

The Honors Study Abroad Program is known for its rigorous course work and an emphasis on site-based learning. The country is the classroom. This program is open to Honors and non-Honors undergraduates from all majors. For more information, click here.
