Early Morning Concrete Pour
We have scheduled an early morning pour of the slab at Event Level #7 at the College Park Center site for Saturday, December 11, 2010 at midnight. We will begin setting up equipment at 11pm with the concrete arriving to the site beginning at midnight. The concrete trucks will enter the site through Gates 1 & 2 off Pecan Street and exit the site through Gate 1 back onto Pecan Street for those being pumped and Gate 4 onto Center Street for those being poured by crane and concrete bucket in an effort to minimize the noise affects to the neighbors. This 650cy pour should be completed prior to 7 am and is being made at night to minimize the concrete trucks mixing with the University traffic on Saturday. Please pass this information on to all departments that need to be aware of this scheduled pour.
We will also have early morning pours on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 and Friday, December 17, 2010.

Electrical Outages
Facilities Management has three different electrical projects scheduled for the holiday break which requires a campus electrical outage for selected buildings. The primary electrical service to the buildings listed below will be off line starting at 6:00 a.m. Sunday December 26 to 6:00 p.m. that night. The outage is required because of safety issues related to working with energized high voltage lines.
The emergency generators will be operational in the buildings noted below to support life safety operations and on-going research if currently on an emergency circuit.

1. Science Hall Electrical Outage
The schedule has been finalized for the electrical outage for Science Hall. The primary electric service to the building will be off from 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2010, until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2011. The back-up emergency generator will be operational for the entire time of the outage. In the unlikely event the building generator would fail, we have made arrangements for a back-up system to support on-going research in the building. All building egress lighting will also be operational during this outage.

2. Library Electrical Outage
The schedule has been finalized for the electrical outage for Library. The primary electric service to the building will be off from 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2010, until 6:00 p.m. The back-up emergency generator will not be operational for this outage.
From Saturday, December 18th to Friday, December 31, 2010 the library will be without a back-up emergency generator. The primary electrical service to the building will remain on during operational hours. It may require some short-term outages after hours which will be scheduled with Carleen Dolan. ahead of time. With the 12 hour outage on December 26th, the contractor is hoping to be able to do much of the work during this period which will reduce the need for the short term outage after hours.

3. Life Science Electrical Outage
We have finalized the project schedule. Because of some pre-work the contractor has reduced the electrical outage time on this project. The contractor has informed us that the project will only require two outages. On Saturday, December 18th the new generator will be delivered to the site, it will require about a three hour time frame to hook up the stand by emergency generator. During this time the primary electrical will be operational in the building, just without emergency power for a three hour time frame. Over the holiday break the contractor will need another three hour outage on the emergency generator to connect the new equipment to the building.
Because other campus infrastructures work, the electrical service to the building will be off from 6:00 a.m. Sunday, December 26th to 6:00 p.m. that night. All emergency circuits will be operational to support on-going research in the building.
