In order to connect permanent power to the new School of Social Work and Smart Hospital Building, the Office of Facilities Management must schedule an electrical outage for the entire SEIR Building beginning Saturday, May 21st, at 8:00 a.m. to last no later than 1:00 p.m. The SEIR Building’s generator will be operational during this timeframe; however, there will be a slight “blip” lasting approximately one half of a second as the electrical service transfers to the generator and another as it is transferred back to the normal building service.
It is recommended you keep any computer work/data in progress saved during this timeframe to prevent any possible data loss. Also, to prevent any possible damage, we recommend you turn off all electronic equipment including computers, scanners, and copiers (these devices do not need to be unplugged from their electrical outlets) prior to this outage. Please share with your fellow faculty and staff members accordingly.
If you have any questions or concerns about this outage, please contact either Nick Myers at nmyers@uta.edu , Toby Buhrkuhl at tbuhrkuhl@uta.edu , or Jeff Johnson at jljohnson@uta.edu .
