The Office of Facilities Management is planning electrical upgrades that will require electrical shutdowns for several buildings and areas across campus over the 2024-2025 Winter Break. Electrical shutdowns will affect the following buildings during the entire Winter Break time period lasting no later than Wednesday, January 1st. Firm dates will be determined as schedule is finalized with the Contractors.
Brazos Pavilion
CAPPA (Architecture)
College Hall
College of Business
Earth & Environmental Science (Geoscience)
Engineering Lab
Fine Arts
Health Center
Nanofab
Nedderman Hall
University Center
Woolf Hall
Additional buildings may be added to the list as the project design package is completed, and updates will be provided as we get closer to the Winter Break.
Building generators will support limited electrical needs for research, fire and life safety, building security, remote locking, and networking. It is recommended you keep any computer work/data in progress saved during this timeframe to prevent any possible data loss. Also, to prevent any possible damage, we recommend you turn off all electronic equipment including computers, scanners, and copiers (these devices do not need to be unplugged from their electrical outlets) prior to this outage. Remove all perishable items from the refrigerators/freezers in breakrooms and kitchens and turn off all ice makers.
We will monitor the weather conditions closely and if it appears a winter storm or inclement weather is imminent, we will adjust accordingly. Please share with your fellow faculty, researchers, and staff members accordingly. If you have research that needs to be added to the building generators, please contact Jeff Johnson at jljohnson@uta.edu / Cell (817) 798-8456.
