Building generators will support limited electrical needs for research, building security, remote locking, and networking. It is recommended you keep any computer work/data in progress saved during this timeframe to prevent any possible data loss. Also, to prevent any possible damage, we recommend you turn off all electronic equipment including computers, scanners, and copiers (these devices do not need to be unplugged from their electrical outlets) prior to this outage. Remove all perishable items from the refrigerators/freezers in breakrooms and kitchens and turn off all ice makers.
We will monitor the weather conditions closely and if it appears a winter storm or inclement weather is imminent, we will adjust accordingly. Please share with your fellow faculty and staff members. If you have research that needs to be added to the building generators, please contact either Jeff Johnson at jljohnson@uta.edu / Cell (817) 798-8456 or Joshua Tanner at joshua.tanner@uta.edu / Cell (682) 414-2133.
